Impact - The Golf Swing's Moment of truth Impact is the moment of truth in the golf swing. It is the moment when the golf club contacts the golf ball. In order to hit a straight and solid shot, that flies long and true, three things must happen with the club at impact: 1. The center of the clubface must contact below the ball's equator. Although there are variances in swing techniques among professionals, they all arrive at impact basically the same. This position is universal and is necessary for solid and consistent golf shots.
