Lie angle directly affects the ball flight by squaring the clubface at contactt. An overly upright lie angle could yield heel-shots, hooks, fat and thin shots, or any combination of the four. An over flat lie angle could result in toe shots, slices, fat and thin shots, or any combination of the four. Lie angle is determined by hitting shots off a lie board and checking the results accordingly.
