club Fitting: Club Length Golf Club Length is measured from the back of the heel to the top of the grip. It primarily affects one’s ability to strike the ball in the center of the clubface. When a club is too long a player might: 1. Have a tendency to choke down on club 2. Have posture that is too tall 3. Have weight at address too much on heels 4. Hit pop-up shots 5. Hit fat shots If a club is too short a player might: 1. Have a tendency to grip beyond butt end of grip 2. Have posture that is hunched over too much 3. Hit a lot of thin shots 4. Have weight too much on toes 5. Have low hands in the address position
